Mission Statement
It is the mission of Peterson Behavior Jr/Sr High School to provide a structured learning environment wherein students experience academic success, modify behavior and return to a comprehensive school. The school provides a short term placement for secondary students in grades 6-12 who have been referred by their home school.

Highlights
The administration, teachers, and staff are dedicated to providing all students with quality learning opportunities on their road to return to a comprehensive school.
  • Middle and high school students made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) with at least 95% participation on state testing.
  • The recidivism rate of students continued to decline through behavioral interventions.
  • Student discipline referrals decreased due to positive classroom interventions.
  • My Skills Tutor, an on-line computer program, provided supplemental instruction to students.
  • Additional classes were created through the purchase of teacher preparation time to allow for class-size reduction.
  • Uniforms were provided to needy students with profits from the student store.
  • School-wide consistent classroom discipline procedures were used to prepare students for return to a comprehensive school.
  • The counselor provided each student with individual meetings reviewing their transcripts and grades for release.
  • Weekly attendance incentives were put in place to increase our student average daily attendance percentage.
