Mission Statement |

It is the mission of Peterson Behavior Jr/Sr High School to provide a structured learning environment wherein students experience academic success, modify behavior and return to a comprehensive school. The school provides a short term placement for secondary students in grades 6-12 who have been referred by their home school. |

The administration, teachers, and staff are dedicated to providing all students with quality learning opportunities on their road to return to a comprehensive school.- Middle and high school students made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) with at least 95% participation on state testing.
- The recidivism rate of students continued to decline through behavioral interventions.
- Student discipline referrals decreased due to positive classroom interventions.
- My Skills Tutor, an on-line computer program, provided supplemental instruction to students.
- Additional classes were created through the purchase of teacher preparation time to allow for class-size reduction.
- Uniforms were provided to needy students with profits from the student store.
- School-wide consistent classroom discipline procedures were used to prepare students for return to a comprehensive school.
- The counselor provided each student with individual meetings reviewing their transcripts and grades for release.
- Weekly attendance incentives were put in place to increase our student average daily attendance percentage.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Students at Peterson Behavior Jr/Sr High School will increase their average daily attendance (ADA) percentage.
Objective(s): Students in grades 6-12 will demonstrate increased attendance by increasing the average rate of attendance from 83.21% to 88.2%.
Goal 2 Students will increase achievement on the Nevada High School Proficiency Examination.
Objective(s): We will increase the overall percentage of proficient students at Peterson Behavior Jr/Sr High School by at least 10% as measured by the spring 2010-2011 High School Proficiency Examinations (HSPE) & Middle School Criterion Referenced Tests (CRT).
