The students at Miley Achievement Center who experience emotional and behavioral difficulties will benefit from their education academically, socially, and vocationally by receiving counseling-based intervention, direct instruction, and community experiences. |

Miley Achievement Center students are exposed to the general education curriculum with additional instruction in positive, social behavior skills, and counseling-based instruction.- Cultural Diversity Literature is an addition to our curriculum that has had a positive impact on our secondary students.
- We have expanded our electives for Secondary Students to include Horticulture and Spanish.
- Student Council helped raise funds for the school by hosting a shopping night at Fresh and Easy, raising over $800.00.
- "Reading Week Rocked" at Miley. We welcomed Yellow Brick Road and FSW Wrestlers to celebrate the excitement of reading.
- School Spirit Weeks included "Love Your Body Week," "Peace Week," "Show Your Miley Spirit," and "Writing the Blues."
- A grant-funded data coordinator position improved objective data collection and enhanced parent communication.
- Miley has incorporated a clinic to meet the psychiatric and health needs of our students.
- Community involvement with "Living Waters" and "Mojave Mental Health" have expanded our therapeutic approach to our students.
- Our after-school program (CTC) continues to be a successful component of our school in helping students graduate.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Students will increase their mathematical skills as measured by assessments.
Objective(s): By June of 2011, students will increase their mathematical skills in computation and problem solving as measured by state-mandated assessments.
Goal 2 Students will increase their written expression skills assessed by state-mandated testing.
Objective(s): By June 2011, students will increase written communication skills focusing on delivery and sentence structure utilizing the Writer's Workshop and state mandated-assessments.
Goal 3 Students will increase social skills within the classroom, school and community settings.
Objective(s): Students will increase social skills, focusing on team building, boundaries, anger management, and communication skills within the classroom, school, and community settings measured by daily points and intervention data.
