The mission of Desert Oasis High School is to offer all students the opportunity to achieve an education and exercise their citizenship skills. |

Desert Oasis High School, home of the Diamond Backs, opened in August of 2008. Now in our third year, we proudly list these accomplishments and programs.- Students received tutoring for all Nevada High School Proficiency Exams, both during the school day and after school.
- Teachers presented multicultural lessons in core subjects and electives, especially in foreign language and history classes.
- Entering ninth graders met regularly with high school teachers, administrators and counselors to ensure success.
- Juniors were given memory drives with college information on admission requirements, financial aid and scholarships.
- Community service projects included desert cleanup, three blood drives, elementary reading project and the Relay for Life.
- The DECA organization placed in the top 10 or higher in 17 categories at the state competition, including 4 state champions.
- Band, theater, orchestra and choir earned excellent to superior ratings in multiple festivals, sending 8 students to state.
- Bowling, women's basketball, football, cheer, dance, golf, track, swimming and wrestling teams all qualified for playoffs.
- Desert Oasis High School completed the Northwest Accreditation process and earned full AYP status.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 In the 2011 - 2011 school year, African-American male students will increase performance by 10% on the NHSPE.
Objective(s): To improve teacher student relationships with the target group as measured by student surveys and to increase the cultural awareness amongst the staff by completing cultural training on staff development workshops.
Goal 2 Increase the analysis of student data by all teachers when modifying instruction and monitoring student success.
Objective(s): By the end of 2010 - 2011 school year, 65% or more of all teachers will use IDMS data and common assessments to meet student needs. Teachers will also participate in departmental collaboration using data, common core state standards and common planning time to address student improvement.
