Mission Statement
The Moapa Valley Empowerment High School Community prepares students for post-secondary education, careers of their choice, and to excel as productive, responsible citizens.
 
Highlights
Moapa Valley Empowerment HS is dedicated to providing our students with an exceptional academic program. We offer a warm and caring environment with a knowledgeable, talented, and friendly staff.
  • Moapa Valley Empowerment High School is home to the only Agri-Culinary Enterprise Farm in the state of Nevada.
  • The 4 x 4 block schedule allows students the opportunity to complete 32 credits, thus increasing the graduation rate.
  • The Post-Secondary Pirate program allows juniors and seniors to take dual credit CSN courses on the campus of MVHS.
  • Approximately 40% of juniors and seniors are enrolled in at least one dual credit CSN course.
  • MVHS is the only comprehensive CCSD high school to make Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for 8 consecutive years.
  • MVHS exceeded the CCSD standard with 84.6% of students graduating.
  • Seventy-five percent (75%) of MVHS students participate in one or more extracurricular activities.
  • The Pirate boy's basketball team captured the Nevada state 3A championship.
  • The MVHS forensics team took first place in the Nevada State Forensics Competition for the 6th year in a row.
 
Goals and Objectives
Goal 1
Students at MVHS will demonstrate an increased proficiency on the math, ELA, and science NHSPE.

Objective(s):
All subgroups will decrease the percentage of non-proficient students by 10% on the 2011 math, English, reading, and science NHSPE.

Goal 2
The percentage of Moapa Valley High School graduates choosing post-secondary education will increase.

Objective(s):
The percentage of students enrolling in post-secondary education after high school will increase by 5%.
