Mission Statement
It is the mission of Spring Valley High School faculty and staff to prepare all students for post-secondary education and life-long learning through a challenging, interactive, academic curriculum that stresses opportunities to explore a career area of interest.
 
Highlights
Spring Valley High School provides every student with the tools necessary to be successful in post-secondary education.
  • A grade-level house system provides students with a more personal and intimate educational environment.
  • Students have an adult mentor who monitors academic and social progress while enrolled at Spring Valley and after graduation.
  • The AVID Program supports the school mission and provides students support and guidance towards post-secondary education.
  • The College and Career Center allows students to receive assistance in achieving their goal of attending a college.
  • Recent data indicates that 84% of Spring Valley graduates will be attending a post-secondary educational institution.
  • The Life Strategies Program and the Freshmen Boot Camp help students transition from middle school into high school.
  • The Writing Center provides all students with an opportunity to develop both their written and oral communication skills.
  • The foreign language department has established exchange programs for French, Italian and Chinese language students.
 
Goals and Objectives
Goal 1
Spring Valley High School will demonstrate improved achievement in the area of mathematics as assessed by the NHSPE.

Objective(s):
Mathematics proficiency will increase to 72.63% in the general population with an emphasis on gains in the following subpopulations: LEP to 69%, FRL to 63%, Hispanic to 64%, African American to 63% and IEP to 26%.

Goal 2
Spring Valley High School will demonstrate improved achievement in the area of language arts as assessed by the NHSPE.

Objective(s):
Language arts proficiency will increase to 91% in the general population with an emphasis on gains in the following subpopulations: LEP to 85%, FRL to 86.7%, Hispanic to 86.7%, African American to 85% and IEP to 55%.
