Mission Statement
Our mission at Silverado High School is to provide a safe, supportive and challenging environment in which students will become active, reflective and creative learners who accept responsibility for learning, have pride in their community and are prepared to contribute in a culturally diverse world.
 
Highlights
Silverado High School is proud of its students, staff, and parents who have worked together to establish a rich tradition of excellence, preparing our students for the challenges of the 21st century.
  • 78% of our seniors sent transcripts to 2- or 4-year institutions, with almost $6,000,000 awarded in scholarships.
  • 168 students took AP exams in 18 different subjects.
  • Food Production Class took second place in state ProStart competition with instructor recognized as the Teacher of the Year.
  • Student Council received the prestigious Silver Star award from National Association of Student Council.
  • Concert choir, chamber choir, wind ensemble and advanced orchestra received superior ratings at the CCSD music festivals.
  • Eight students were selected for All State Choir. Eleven students were selected for All State Orchestra.
  • The elite cheer squad won the American Grand National Championships in the co-ed division.
  • Clubs and service organizations donated over 3500 hours in community service to various charities & community organizations.
  • Silverado High School again made Adequate Yearly Progress under the federal No Child Left Behind Act.
 
Goals and Objectives
Goal 1
All students will consistently receive additional instruction and intervention to increase student achievement.

Objective(s):
Grade data will indicate a decrease of 20% in the number of students who receive a D or an F.

Goal 2
All students will consistently be assessed according to standards-based curriculum.

Objective(s):
Teachers will plan and deliver instruction based on the Components of an Effective Lesson and content standards.
