Highlights
Del Webb Middle School students continue to demonstrate exceptional performance in academic achievement and performing arts.
  • 84% of Del Webb M.S. students met or exceeded Nevada State standards for English language arts proficiency on the 2010 CRT.
  • 81% of Del Webb M.S. students met or exceeded Nevada State standards for math proficiency on the 2010 CRT.
  • 8th grade students earned high school credit for Spanish I, Algebra I Honors, and Geometry Honors.
  • 43% percent of the student body made the Honor Roll, 306 students for straight A and 456 students for A/B.
  • One hundred percent of Algebra I Honors students and 60% of Pre-Algebra students passed the CCSD semester exam.
  • Special education students were mainstreamed in all reading, science, social studies, and PE general education classes.
  • 300 sixth grade students won first place in the national FBI Safe Online Surfing competition in January 2011.
  • Advanced band, orchestra, and choir earned superior ratings at CCSD music festivals.
  • The Del Webb M.S. boys' basketball team qualified for the CCSD playoffs.
 
Goals and Objectives
Goal 1
6th, 7th, and 8th grade students will meet or exceed reading proficiency or Safe Harbor targets on the 2010 Nevada CRT.

Objective(s):
Between September 2010 and April 2011, students' performance in reading for subgroups performing at or above target will increase 5%, and subgroups performing below target will show a 10% reduction of non-proficient students based on their performance on the 2010 Nevada CRT to attain Safe Harbor.

Goal 2
6th, 7th, and 8th grade students will meet or exceed math proficiency or Safe Harbor targets on the 2010 Nevada CRT.

Objective(s):
Between September 2010 and April 2011, students' performance in math for subgroups performing at or above target will increase 5%, and subgroups performing below target will show a 10% reduction of non-proficient students based on their performance on the 2010 Nevada CRT to attain Safe Harbor.

Goal 3
Eighth grade students will demonstrate proficiency on the CCSD common semester exam in Pre-Algebra or Algebra I.

Objective(s):
Student performance on the Algebra I second semester common exam will increase from a pass rate of 97.3% to 100%, and student performance on the pre-algebra second common semester common exam will increase from a pass rate of 68.7% to 72%.
