The parents, students, and teachers at Findlay Middle School collaborated to support academic achievement and extra-curricular experiences. The following achievements showcase their efforts.- FMS promoted a school-wide College Culture through the continuation of the A.V.I.D. program.
- The FMS performing and fine arts department collaborated to present several concerts, festivals, and cultural celebrations.
- FMS continued to implement Thinking Maps across the curriculum to increase student achievement.
- Over 300 students were honored for academic achievement at the annual FMS Counselors' Breakfast.
- The FMS Junior Varsity Quiz team was awarded the Blue League Championship after an undefeated season.
- Four teachers were awarded the Pathway Technology Grant which provided class sets of iPods for student research.
- FMS promoted writing across the curriculum with constructed response and mock proficiency testing in all grade levels.
- FMS presented four Academic Family Nights to provide instructional strategies for students and parents in the home setting.
- The FMS multi-media class developed and debuted a televised announcement program called "The Morning Take-Off."

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 All students in grades 6, 7, and 8 will increase student achievement in English language arts (ELA) and mathematics.
Objective(s): Students in grades 6, 7, and 8 will achieve the mathematics target of 65.9% or attain Safe Harbor as measured by the mathematics CRT. Students in grades 6, 7, and 8 will achieve the ELA target of 63.8% or attain Safe Harbor as measured by the reading CRT.
Goal 2 Create a more positive school climate, with at least 10% fewer incidents of student violence, hazing, and harassment.
Objective(s): Incidents involving hazing, harassment, and acts of violence (assault, battery, fighting) by students will decrease by a minimum of 10% by the end of 2010-2011 school year, 5% reduction by the end of 2011-2012 school year, and 5% reduction by the end of 2012-2013 school year.
