As an IB World School, Martin MS provides students innovative opportunities to develop advanced academic skills necessary for 21st Century careers based in sciences, arts, and global communications.- 69.01% of RM students met or exceeded Nevada standards for ELA proficiency. Students met AYP standards in all subgroups.
- 66.15% of RM students met or exceeded Nevada standards for math proficiency. Students met AYP standards in 7 of 9 subgroups.
- 65.6% of the Martin MS 8th graders met or exceeded Nevada Writing Proficiency standards in 2010, up 11.3% from previous year.
- Title I resources provide reduced class sizes, after-school tutoring, teacher training, and supplemental student materials.
- Band, orchestra, and choir earned superior/excellent ratings at CCSD festivals. 57% of RM students took art or music classes.
- High school credit is offered in Computer Literacy, Algebra I Honors, Geometry Honors, Spanish I, French I, and Japanese I.
- Boys basketball placed in CCSD Final Four while the Lady Colts earned a playoff position. Soccer continues to compete strong.
- RM places in Speech-Debate, Test for Excellence, Science Fair, JV Quiz, & Magnet Schools of America national art competition.
- Student Council "Spirit of Nevada" Award represented community service, character, and leadership activities of our students.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Martin MS students will increase proficiency in ELA on the 2011 CRT and the 8th grade Nevada Writing Proficiency Exam.
Objective(s): ELA subgroups will meet or exceed the 63.8% proficiency target for 2011. 8th graders will meet or exceed the 63.8% proficiency target in reading and writing. Subgroups (Hispanic, LEP, IEP, and FRL) will reduce the number of non-proficient students by not less than 10% on the NV CRT & Writing Exam.
Goal 2 Martin MS Students will increase proficiency in mathematics on the 2011 Nevada CRT.
Objective(s): Math subgroups will meet or exceed the 65.9% proficiency target for 2011. Sub-groups [Hispanic, Limited English Proficient (LEP), IEP, and Free/Reduced Lunch (FRL) will reduce the number of non-proficient students by not less than 10% on the Nevada CRT.
