Mission Statement
The Academy at Jim Bridger Middle School is a student-centered community that fosters rich learning environments focused on rigor, relevance and relationships for all students.
 
Highlights
Jim Bridger MS is proud to highlight the following achievements, reflecting the high standards set by our learning community:
  • Based on significant growth, Bridger was selected by the Nevada Department of Education as a Nevada Highlighted School.
  • On the state assessment in reading, all subgroups met the state goal and/or reduced non-proficient students by 10% or more.
  • Teachers analyzed assessment data and adjusted student groupings in response to intervention (RTI).
  • Falcon Camp, a transition program, was held to welcome incoming sixth graders to Bridger MS.
  • Bridger was designated as a School of Excellence by Magnet Schools of America, receiving this distinction 3 of 4 years.
  • Bridger was nominated Magnet School of the Year by Magnet Schools of America, and was named a top 5 Magnet School in America.
  • Partnerships with Communities in Schools, After School All-Stars and Three-Square provided academic and social assistance.
  • Students participated in study trips to San Diego, the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park and the Museum of Tolerance.
  • Students demonstrated their knowledge and expertise in Junior Varsity Quiz, Legos, Art and SeaPerch competitions.
 
Goals and Objectives
Goal 1
Bridger MS students will improve their achievement in English language arts (ELA) as measured by the 2011 Nevada CRT.

Objective(s):
Between August 2010 and March 2011, the number of non-proficient students will be reduced by 12% in all subgroups in English language arts.

Goal 2
Bridger MS students will improve their achievement in mathematics as measured by the 2011 Nevada CRT.
