Brinley's emphasis continued to be on mastery of standards using differentiated strategies in daily lessons. Creative extra-curricular events supported school goals.- Nevada State Department of Education designated Brinley Middle School a Nevada Successful School for the school year.
- Brinley Middle School was the recipient of Title I grant funds to support classroom instruction and student attendance.
- The GEAR UP program provided educational enrichment and tutoring during and after school.
- Parents participated in the education of their children through Brinley's Parent Outreach Program.
- The social studies department received a grant from Colonial Williamsburg that brought early America alive through video.
- Students were invited to a premiere book-to-movie party to celebrate the movie debut of Harry Potter's Deathly Hallows.
- A Hollywood style celebration was held for all students who distinguished themselves on the 2010 CRT exams.
- The faculty was trained in Capturing Kids' Hearts protocols to support positive student behaviors and academic achievement.
- Brinley students broadened their literary backgrounds by attending a Shakespeare in the Park performance of Macbeth.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Standards-based curriculum and standards-based assessments will reinforce mastery of grade-level standards.
Objective(s): Students in all grades will show a 10% reduction in the number of ELA and mathematics non-proficient students as compared to the 2010-2011 Nevada Criterion Referenced Tests and State of Nevada Writing Proficiency Exam.
Goal 2 Implement and monitor the use of differentiated instruction to support effective delivery of standards-based lessons.
Objective(s): Students in all grades will show a 10% reduction in the number of ELA and mathematics non-proficient students as compared to the 2010-2011 Nevada Criterion Referenced Tests and State of Nevada Writing Proficiency Exam.
