We, at Estes McDoniel Elementary-An International School, as a community formed of students, parents, and staff, are committed to developing responsibility, building self-confidence, fostering skills for life-long learning, and providing essential experiences for daily success. |

Estes McDoniel is proud of its community spirit, high standards, academic achievement, science education, language immersion programs, global studies emphasis, and parent involvement.- Our Spanish immersion program has been successfully implemented in grades K-5.
- Our annual "Walkabout Night" showcased each classroom's study of urban cities from around the world.
- The fathers/male role models of our school successfully implemented our WatchDOGS (Dads of Great Students) program.
- All students received marine biology instruction in our nationally recognized marine lab.
- Students contributed aide to needy people in our school, and the larger Las Vegas community.
- Students participated in enrichment programs including musical theatre, math tutoring, and homework assistance.
- We implemented Voyager Summer School Reading Program for grades 3-5 for students below grade level.
- K-5 students read 101,427 minutes for the Area 2 Holiday APPLECORE Challenge.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1
All 3-5 students will increase proficiency in English language arts (ELA) and math on the spring 2011 CRT's.
Objective(s):
As measured by the Nevada Writing Proficiency and CRT exams, all subgroups will achieve AYP or Safe Harbor in ELA and math by June 2011. Whole school, Asian, and White subgroups will achieve 80% proficiency.
