Mission Statement
Stanford is a Learning Community of teachers, parents, and students who are responsible for the academic success of all students.
 
Highlights
Everyone Succeeds and It Begins With Me. We believe that every child can succeed and through collaboration with our families, we strive to reach this goal for every student at Stanford Elementary.
  • The "Daily 5" reading structure which fosters literacy independence was fully implemented in all classrooms.
  • Structured Teacher Planning Time was used to analyze and track all students' academic achievement.
  • Common grade-level assessments were developed/utilized for making data-driven decisions regarding instructional needs.
  • Students participated in small, flexible reading groups receiving intervention or enrichment as driven by student needs.
  • After-school and Saturday tutoring provided remedial instruction to 289 students in the areas of reading and mathematics.
  • "Smartboard" technology provided enhanced student engagement to all students in grades 4 and 5.
  • 376 students in grades K-5 were recognized for demonstrating exemplary citizenship and academic excellence.
  • Student government, choir/dance, art, book, and fitness clubs provided opportunities for students to exhibit their talents.
  • Parent-teacher communication was enhanced through scheduled monthly family events and parent seminars.
 
Goals and Objectives
Goal 1
We will use effective, instructional strategies to increase student achievement in English language arts and math.

Objective(s):
As measured by classroom observation data, all students will receive standards- based instructional strategies and demonstrate active student engagement at least 75% of the time. As measured by CRT's and Writing Proficiency Exam, all student subgroups will achieve AYP or Safe Harbor in ELA and math.
