John Bass Elementary School is proud to announce the following accomplishments:- Implemented class size reduction in grades one through three
- Provided after-school Fast ForWord tutoring program for identified students on multiple learning levels
- Implemented tuition-based full day kindergarten classes to promote student success
- Implemented Leadership Team with grade level representation to focus on student achievement and curriculum standards
- Implemented Full Option Science System (FOSS) Program in kindergarten through fifth grades
- Implemented AIMSWeb assessment tool to monitor student achievement
- Awarded students with special recognition for each increment of 100 points in the Accelerated Reader Program
- Involved staff in data analysis and grade-level intervention strategies to close the achievement gap

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1
John Bass teachers will utilize research-based strategies to improve instruction in English language arts.
Objective(s):
Grades 3, 4, and 5 students will achieve the reading target of 63.8% (reduce non-proficient students by 10%); and grade 5 students will achieve the writing target of 12 or attain Safe Harbor, as measured by the March 2011 NDE CRT and the Nevada Writing Assessment.
Goal 2
John Bass teachers will utilize research-based strategies to increase student achievement in mathematics.
Objective(s):
Grades 3, 4, and 5 students will achieve the mathematics target of 65.9% (reduce non-proficient students by 10%) as measured by the March 2011 NDE CRT.
