Mission Statement |

We, the faculty, administration, and staff at R. Guild Gray, will work cooperatively with our parents to provide for our students a strong educational program. This program will promote academic excellence, a positive self concept and the social and moral competence of each of our students to become responsible members of our society. |

The Gray ES Community is proud of the following accomplishments:- ARRA funds were used to provide 10 weeks of after-school tutoring for targeted students in grades 3, 4 and 5.
- Two Saturday CRT Institutes were held to prepare students in grades 3, 4 and 5 for the CRT exams.
- Teachers provided 30 minutes of intervention daily to students participating in Gray's Response to Intervention program.
- Student events included Family Picnic, Movie Nights, Manners Dinner, Orff Festival, Hound Races and Field Day.
- Student activities included Jump Rope Team, Dance Team, Chess Club, Student Council, Spanish Club and SeaCamp.
- Student service and leadership were promoted through our Lunch Monitors program.
- Gray teachers modeled Being a Writer lessons for other CCSD teachers and administrators.
- Student academic achievement and perfect attendance were recognized following each trimester at awards assemblies.
- ARRA funds were used to hire a teacher, reducing class sizes and providing a range of professional development.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Increase proficiency in the areas of Expository Text and Word Analysis on the Nevada Criterion Referenced Test.
Objective(s): Students will increase proficiency by 5% in the areas of Expository Text and Word Analysis, specifically focusing on Depth of Knowledge levels 2 & 3 test items. Hispanic, IEP and LEP students will be targeted for growth.
Goal 2 Increase proficiency on the Nevada Writing Proficiency Exam. Specific growth will be made by Hispanic and LEP students.
Objective(s): 5th grade students will increase proficiency by 5% in the area of Conventions, with specific growth being made by the Hispanic and LEP subgroups.
