The mission of Nate Mack Elementary School is to create a safe, positive environment that maximizes each student's potential and desire to learn through a partnership with community, teachers, and students. |

The Nate Mack faculty and staff consistently maintain high expectations for academic performance and citizenship. As a community, we are committed to meeting the needs of all students.- School-wide implementation of the Daily Five and Literacy Cafe increased reading proficiency at all levels.
- Focus on standards and common assessments in math increased math proficiency school-wide.
- Our full-day kindergarten provided rigorous literacy and math instruction, preparing students for life-long learning.
- Activities such as clubs, enrichment classes, student council, and performing groups engaged students beyond the school day.
- Trips to Sea World; Washington, DC; Carson City; Virginia City; Astrocamp; and Lee Canyon provided hands-on learning.
- Our focus on fitness was enriched by Running Club, PTA's Fun Run for Education, and the Jumprope for Heart event.
- The Nate Mack recycling center, run by GATE students, collected, organized, and recycled thousands of items weekly.
- Recent technology upgrades and training provided state-of-the-art equipment for classroom instruction.
- Our new Volunteer Lounge provided a place to network with others and provided invaluable assistance to teachers and students.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Increase proficiency in English language arts by utilizing differentiated instruction for students in all grade levels.
Objective(s): By June 2011, the overall percentage of non-proficient reading students in the IEP, Black/African American, and LEP subgroups will decrease by at least 15% as measured by the Nevada CRT.
Goal 2 Increase proficiency in English language arts by utilizing differentiated instruction for students in all grade levels.
Objective(s): Students in fifth grade will show an increase in writing proficiency on the Nevada Writing Proficiency Exam. Specifically, there will be an increase in the percentage of proficient students by at least 5% for each subgroup.
Goal 3 Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will increase achievement in math as measured by the 2011 Nevada CRT.
Objective(s): Between September 2010 and June 2011, overall proficiency in math will increase from 74% to 80% as measured by the 2011 Nevada CRT. Specific improvement will be seen in third grade, which will increase by at least 10%, and Black/African American, which will increase by at least 10%.
