The mission of Oran K. Gragson Elementary School is to be a nurturing place for children to develop a well-rounded education so that they are "Earth Keepers" with a passion for nature, people, books, and culture. |

Gragson ES is proud to highlight the following:- Class size reduction in kindergarten was supported through Title I.
- Recognition was given to students for academic achievement, citizenship, and attendance.
- Principal luncheons on Fridays were held for the most improved students.
- The Newcomer's program was provided for non-English-speaking students in grades 3-5.
- The Gifted and Talented (GATE) program emphasized enhanced learning challenges.
- Before- and after-school tutoring programs were provided for mastery of math and language arts standards.
- The dual language program is Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd in 10 classrooms.
- Smart Board technology was used for instruction in all classrooms inside the building.
- Students voluntarily attended Saturday math and reading boot camps to boost skills prior to state testing.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Students in grades 3-5 will meet adequate yearly progress in reading, writing, and math for the 2010-2011 school year.
Objective(s): Student performance in English language arts (ELA) and math will increase scores by 10% based on their 2009-2010 AYP levels.
