Mission Statement
Our mission at Doris French Elementary is to provide academic tools and promote social responsibility in a respectful learning environment that results in a positive self-image.
 
Highlights
Doris French Elementary provides high quality differentiated instruction to our students. We celebrate diversity and embrace each student as an individual.
  • Dolphin of the Week, Dynamite Dolphin Program, the Principal's 200 Club and the Key to Progress celebrated student efforts.
  • Honor choir, instrumental ensemble, Art Shop and Multicultural Club provided students with extra-curricular events.
  • The school-wide No Place for Hate program and the "Bucket Filler" program promoted a safe, caring, respectful campus.
  • Student Council promoted service to others and learned how to become part of an extended community.
  • Our school Community Center provided after-school time for students and families to access extra resources for learning.
  • Daily literacy intervention and enrichment sessions promoted differentiated instruction for student success.
  • RTI (Response to Instruction) strategies were used daily to assist all students with high levels of learning success.
  • After-school tutoring and English Language Academies provided students with assistance for higher levels of learning.
  • Students school-wide participated in charitable acts for the Florida Sea Aquarium, American Cancer Society and the homeless.
 
Goals and Objectives
Goal 1
Staff members will use multiple approaches to instruction and individualize instruction on a consistent basis.

Objective(s):
Teachers will participate in systematic individualized professional development research and implement the skills learned in their classrooms. The number of non-proficient students will decrease by 10% in ELA and math.

Goal 2
Staff will adjust units or lessons as needed, based on analysis of assessment results to meet individual student needs.

Objective(s):
Teachers will use state assessments, AIMSweb data, interim assessments and common assessments to modify instructional strategies to meet student needs and progress monitor students. French ES will reduce the number of non-proficient students by 10% in ELA and math.
