The Edwards staff works together with families to make high-quality student learning a priority. We are committed to using research-based instructional strategies to promote student achievement.- The Edwards Leadership Club provided students the opportunity to develop character and become leaders in their community.
- The PALS grant provided weekly training for parents to deliver reading and writing instruction to students.
- 21st Century grant funding provided extended-day tutoring and enrichment classes (crafts, computers, etc.) to students.
- Coffee & Conversation community meetings provided parents with curriculum information and strategies to assist at home.
- All students (K-5) reading below grade level were provided extra small group instruction to develop reading skills.
- Our partnership with Kids 2 Kids provided monthly books to all students in an effort to build home literacy libraries.
- Accelerated Reader and 100 Book Challenge were used to motivate, monitor, and recognize students' independent reading.
- Edwards maintained mandatory Standard Student Attire to improve the school learning environment.
- The Edwards Eagle Feather program promoted positive citizenship and rewarded random acts of kindness.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Grades 3-5 will increase ELA scores on CRTs and writing by 15%. Grades K-2 will score above 60% on the ELA interim test.
Objective(s): Students in grades 3-5 will reach the ELA target of 63.8% with specific improvement by the Hispanic, LEP, and FRL subgroups on the CRT. Additionally, 5th graders scoring at or above a 3 in the traits of ideas, voice, organization, and conventions will demonstrate a 10-15% increase on the NWPE.
Goal 2 Grades 3-5 will increase 10% on the mathematics CRT. K-2 students will achieve 60% or higher on the math interim test.
Objective(s): Students in grades 3-5 will exceed the math target of 65.9% by ten percentage points. Additionally, 80% of students in grades K-2 will achieve 60% or higher performance rate on the 2011 CCSD Math Survey Assessment.
