The mission of Bill Y. Tomiyasu Elementary School is established with the belief that all children can learn. This is accomplished through a partnership with school, parents, and community. |

Our outstanding school programs and dedicated staff continue to bring praise and recognition to our school.- Free after-school tutoring was provided to students needing assistance in reading and writing.
- CRT and writing camps were offered to fourth and fifth grade students to prepare for exams.
- Voyager Passport Intervention and Accelerated Reader assisted students in reading.
- The Great American Challenge and monthly patriotic ceremonies promoted citizenship.
- The arts were highlighted through choir/instrumental groups.
- Our PTA partnership provided a free book for each child, resources, and support for community events.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1
Students in grades 3-5 will increase achievement in mathematics as measured by the 2011 Criterion Referenced Test (CRT).
Objective(s):
In 3rd grade, students will increase achievement in math from 61% to 67.1%. In 4th grade, students will increase achievement from 52% to 57.2%. In 5th grade, students will increase achievement from 63% to 69.3%.
Goal 2
Students in 5th grade will increase proficiency in writing traits and process as measured by the Proficiency Exam.
Objective(s):
5th grade students will increase achievement from 46.4% to 51.04%.
