Mission Statement
The staff of Bracken Magnet School is committed to preparing our students for the future by improving academic achievement through investigative experiences. Our vision is that Bracken students will maintain high academic and behavioral standards for the pursuit of continued success in magnet programs.

Highlights
As an Empowerment School the staff, parents, students and partners have worked on a school improvement plan and have implemented several new programs that have already demonstrated success.
  • All our technology on campus was completely updated. Both computer labs and all classrooms have new desktop computers.
  • IPads were purchased for all classrooms to expand one-to-one technology tools and to utilize new applications for education.
  • A beautiful new science garden with fruit trees, raised-bed planters and trees was built for the use of all students.
  • Grade levels now offer online homework that is on the level of the student's learning and supports mastery of the standards.
  • We had 3,400 hours of help from parent volunteers and several high school students helping each afternoon.
  • Junior Chef, I-Spy, Good Citizen, Honor Roll, Lego Room, Labs and Investigative Field Trip incentive programs were offered.
  • We partnered with the Las Vegas Rotary Club for teacher appreciation, grants, Kideract, library books and SantaClothes.
  • Mighty Math and Super Science Days, which created hands-on, real-world experiences for our students, were implemented.
  • Bracken was awarded the Magnet School of Distinction Award by Magnet Schools of America.
