The mission of Sunrise Acres Elementary School is to develop a learning community where scholarship, acceptance, respect and communication are valued. We will create authentic opportunities to construct our own understandings and become self-directed. We will pursue our goals in order to realize our hopes and dreams. |

As a committed team of professionals, staff worked diligently to increase student achievement. Professional Learning Communities focused on analysis of student data in relation to academic standards.- Title I-funded Pre-K program provided early-learning opportunities to prepare 30 students for kindergarten.
- Full-day kindergarten increased learning opportunities based in the Voyager Universal Literacy program provided by Title I.
- Class size reduction program provided smaller class sizes for students in grades one through three.
- After-school tutoring was provided with Title I funds for students in grades 1 -5.
- The Accelerated Reader program provided students with opportunities for independent reading practice.
- Monthly Title I parent meetings provided parents with strategies for improving student achievement.
- C.A.R.E.S. skills provided a monthly focus on the five social and emotional skills most critical to academic success.
- Kids to Kids and Breakfast with Books provided students with books to build their personal libraries.
- Drug Abuse Resistance Education program provided strategies for 5th grade students to resist drugs, alcohol and gangs.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Sunrise Acres will improve instruction, increase active student engagement and achievement in ELA and math.
Objective(s): As measured by the Nevada Writing Proficiency Exam and CRT's, all subgroups will make AYP or Safe Harbor by the end of 2010-2011 school year.
Goal 2 Teachers will use differentiated instruction, inclusive practices and scaffolding strategies to increase achievement.
Objective(s): As measured by the Nevada Writing Proficiency Exam and CRT's, underachieving subgroups will make AYP or Safe Harbor by the end of 2010-2011 school year.
