Ruby Thomas Elementary School continued helping students improve by combining academic skills, behavioral supports, and multiple intelligences opportunities increasing student achievement and success.- Success For Kids program was implemented in third grade to teach students coping skills for academic and social success.
- Project Hope and Refugee grant provided students tutoring during summer and after school in the core academic areas.
- Happy Feet, sponsored by the Rotary Club, provided over 250 pairs of shoes throughout the school year.
- Spread the Word Nevada organization provided Running Rebel Reading Challenge and monthly Breakfast With Books programs.
- Coffee with Kubala provided parents opportunity for conversation with the school principal on a variety of school topics.
- Community partner Nevada State Bank continued support for technology enhancement and volunteers in a variety of programs.
- We Care We Share foundation provided for the implementation of the grade 3 Success For Kids program and school awards.
- Caring 4 Kids foundation provided student supplies, backpacks, hygiene packs, food pantry items, and 140 weekend food packs.
- Community student mentoring program from private middle and high school students provided positive student support.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 All Ruby Thomas instructional staff members will analyze and use data to inform and modify instruction.
Objective(s): By the end of the 2010-2011 school year, all instructional staff members (50% by November, 75% by February; 100% by May) will be using CRT, P-Values, interim assessments, common assessments, AIMSweb, and class grades data to inform and modify instructional strategies to meet student needs.
Goal 2 All Ruby Thomas instructional staff members will collaborate and articulate within and across grade levels.
Objective(s): By the end of 2010-2011 all instructional staff members (100%) will meet bi-monthly to communicate, develop, assess, and implement instructional strategies that are aligned to district benchmark standards to increase student achievement.
