The staff at Cahlan-Edison is committed to providing a world class education for all students. We provide a variety of unique opportunities to ensure that every student is successful.- Monthly assessments were administered to students in grades 2-5 and used to address student deficiencies.
- Every student received 40 additional minutes of English Language Development as a result of a longer school day.
- Research-based curriculum programs included Success for All Reading, Everyday Mathematics, and Write From The Beginning.
- We had 100% participation by parents and students in quarterly Student Learning Contract conferences.
- Teachers received over $2500 in grants from organizations such as Donor's Choose, Citibank, and the North Las Vegas Rotary.
- Parents, students, and teachers gave Cahlan-Edison an A or B rating in all areas measured by the Harris Poll survey.
- Teachers had 40 minutes of professional development time daily.
- We offered special tutoring programs such as Saturday School.
- G.R.E.A.T. - Fifth grade students participated in Gang Resistance Education and graduated in a meaningful ceremony.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Students will increase achievement in the areas of reading and writing so that they meet or exceed proficiency targets.
Objective(s): Student performance in reading and writing for subgroups performing at or above identified AYP targets will increase by at least 5% based on 2009-10 levels. Student performance will increase by at least 10% based on 2009-10 levels in reading for subgroups performing below the identified AYP targets.
Goal 2 Students will increase achievement in the area of mathematics so that they meet or exceed proficiency targets.
Objective(s): Student performance in mathematics will increase by at least 5% based on 2009-10 levels for subgroups performing at or above identified AYP targets. Student performance in mathematics will increase by at least 10% based on 2009-10 levels for subgroups performing below the identified AYP targets.
