The mission of J.T. McWilliams Elementary School is to ensure that all students learn and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and ethics necessary to succeed as contributing members of society. |

The teachers and staff at McWilliams ES are committed to ensuring that all students learn and achieve academically and socially in order to be successful and responsible citizens of society.- State-funded class-size reduction was implemented to improve achievement in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades.
- Title I funding was utilized for three additional teachers to maintain class-size reduction and employ a learning strategist.
- School community partners donated books, dictionaries, bikes, school supplies, and holiday gifts for our students and school.
- Clark County Reads and Reading Is Fundamental provided three books for each student's home library.
- Love & Logic parenting seminars were given for parents to assist them with guiding their children to make better choices.
- After-school tutoring and Saturday Academies provided our students with intensive instruction to close the achievement gap.
- Family Literacy & Family Math Nights involved parents by providing useful literacy and math activities to administer at home.
- Peer mediators were nominated and trained to resolve minor peer disputes on campus.
- The Physical Education department and our students raised over $1000.00 for the Diabetes Foundationduring theDiabetes Walk.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 All students will increase achievement in ELA and math as measured by CRT and DIBELS assessment data.
Objective(s): Student performance in reading achievement will increase to 63.8% while reducing the Approaching Standards range. Student performance in writing achievement will increase across all subgroups to 63.8%. K - 2nd grade students will reduce intensive students in reading as measured by DIBELS.
Goal 2 All students will increase achievement in ELA and math as measured by CRT and DIBELS assessment data.
Objective(s): Student performance in math achievement will increase across all subgroups to 65.9% while reducing the Approaching Standards range.
