Ira J. Earl developed activities for students, parents, staff and community members to improve student achievement through high quality teaching and learning.- Monthly award assemblies recognized students for outstanding academics, attendance and citizenship.
- The community participated in evening events throughout the year, such as Math Night, Literacy Night and Writing Night.
- Monthly Title 1 meetings were held with parents to increase communication with parents.
- A Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) was created and formed with hopes of involving more parents in future school events.
- Title 1 after-school tutoring, CRT "boot camp" and summer camp were provided for the students.
- Grade level math competitions were held throughout the year in all grades to improve students' knowledge of basic math facts.
- Various intervention programs (Voyager Passport, FastForward) assisted struggling students with closing the achievement gap.
- Structured Teacher Planning Time was utilized monthly in an effort to analyze data to better classroom instruction.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Staff will ensure students receive grade-level standards-based instruction to help students achieve proficiency.
Objective(s): As measured by the Nevada Writing Proficiency Exam and CRT's, all subgroups will make AYP or Safe Harbor by the end of 2010-2011 school year. As measured by common assessments and classroom observations 50% of all teacher-given questions will be DOK level 2 or 3.
Goal 2 Teachers will use effective, research-based instructional strategies to increase student achievement in ELA and math.
