Mission Statement
The Crestwood-Edison community works collaboratively to provide a quality education in a safe learning environment that promotes student success and a desire for life-long learning.
 
Highlights
Crestwood-Edison Elementary School is a collaborative learning community that provides a "world class education for all students". These are some of our highlights.
  • Crestwood-Edison Elementary School met Adequate Yearly Progress requirements in math.
  • Crestwood-Edison maintained a strong partnership with Edison Learning.
  • Crestwood-Edison used a design that offered an extended school day, quarterly parent conferences, and an enhanced curriculum.
  • Monthly benchmark assessments were administered to students to demonstrate continual growth.
  • Crestwood-Edison had full-day kindergarten where the enhanced curriculum was utilized.
  • Class-size reduction was implemented in grades one through three.
  • An additional literacy block was incorporated into each day at every grade level to increase grade-level reading skills.
  • 80% of the teachers at Crestwood-Edison had a Teaching as a Second Language (TESL) endorsement.
  • Saturday School was held throughout the year, two of which focused on fifth grade writing development.
 
Goals and Objectives
Goal 1
Students in grades 3-5 will increase reading achievement in the areas of skill concept and strategic thinking.

Objective(s):
Overall school reading proficiency will increase from 51.6% to 65%, with a focus on Depth of Knowledge (DOK) question levels 1 and 2, across the tested grades.

Goal 2
Students in grade five will increase writing achievement.

Objective(s):
Fifth grade writing proficiency will increase from 25%-50%, with a focus on the writing traits of Ideas, Voice, Organization, and Conventions as measured by the Nevada Writing Proficiency.

Goal 3
Students in grades 3-5 will increase achievement in math in the areas of skill concept and strategic thinking.

Objective(s):
Overall school math proficiency will increase from 63.3% to 70%, and in the content area of measurement/geometry, proficiency will increase from 65% to 70%, across the tested grades.
