The students, staff, and parents at William V. Wright Elementary School are dedicated to creating life-long learners who excel academically and demonstrate positive character traits. By working together we will empower students to develop and use higher level thinking skills in order to adapt and grow with a changing world. |

William Wright ES has strived to create a learning environment where parents, teachers, administration, and students work together to build a strong community that promotes continual growth.- 76 % of Wright students met or exceeded standards in language arts and 77% in math on the Nevada Criterion Referenced Tests.
- The Six Pillars of Character was implemented to promote trustworthy, responsible, respectful, fair, and caring students.
- Student of the Month breakfasts recognized students for excellent citizenship while providing families a forum to celebrate.
- Literacy was continually promoted throughout the year with monthly writing prompts and book swaps.
- The Reading Rocks theme for Nevada Reading Week highlighted fabulous guest readers and presenters from the local community.
- Before- and after-school math tutoring, writing, and CRT camps provided students with additional academic assistance.
- GATE students presented Nevada history facts and helped plant the first tree at the Nathaniel Jones Park ground breaking.
- Student Council organized community service projects such as the Salvation Army Food Drive and Pennies for Patients.
- The Wrangler dance team and honor choir performed at several district and school events.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will show an increase in proficiency in the area of English language arts.
Objective(s): The percentage of students demonstrating proficiency in English language arts will increase by 10% among all students in grades 3, 4, and 5. Specific improvement will be made by African American, IEP, and LEP subgroups.
Goal 2 Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will show an increase in proficiency in the area of mathematics on the spring 2011 CRTs.
Objective(s): The percentage of students demonstrating proficiency in mathematics will increase by 10% among all students in grades 3, 4, and 5. Specific improvement will be made by African American and IEP subgroups.
Goal 3 Students in grade 5 will show an increase in proficiency in the area of writing, specifically the trait of conventions.
Objective(s): The percentage of students demonstrating proficiency in writing will increase by 10% among all grade 5 students.
