Fredric W. Watson Elementary School will provide a safe learning environment involving students, parents, staff, and community where learners are empowered to succeed, diversity is valued, and social responsibility is demonstrated. |

We are extremely proud of our accomplishments at Watson Elementary School. Here are some highlights.- Our students made Adequate Yearly Progress in all subgroups for the 2009-10 school year.
- Professional development was provided for teachers to learn additional ways to differentiate reading instruction.
- Students participated in after-school tutoring to increase their skills in reading, writing, and math.
- Our students participated in school-wide events: Career Day, Field Day, Spirit Days, Nevada Reading Week, and a talent show.
- One student a week was selected as the Golden Boot Award Winner for academic excellence.
- Trimester awards assemblies were held to honor and recognize academic achievement, attendance, and citizenship.
- Students used the Compass Learning program to increase their reading and math skills.
- AIMSWeb was implemented to measure student progress in mathematics each trimester.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 All instructional staff members, K-5, will deliver grade level standards-based instruction in reading.
Objective(s): By the end of the 2010-11 school year, FOSL data will demonstrate that at least 70% of instruction is based on grade level standards-based instruction.
