The mission of Roger M. Bryan Elementary School is to find the key which unlocks each child's full intellectual potential; to encourage each child to act compassionately, responsibly, and respectfully; and to give each child the skills to be prepared for the complex world of tomorrow. |

Roger M. Bryan Elementary School is committed to increasing student achievement through the implementation of Best Practices and good teaching strategies, while embracing cultural diversity.- Family Academic Nights provided two evenings of academic activities in science and literacy.
- The school utilizes AIMS Web, a formative assessment system, to provide data driven instruction.
- Student achievement was closely monitored at every grade level through the Response To Intervention process.
- MOE money grant provided funds for after-school tutoring to struggling students in the areas of reading and math.
- MOE money grant provided funds for staff to create common assessments to ensure an accurate measure of student proficiency.
- Assistive technology was upgraded to provide increased student achievement.
- Bimonthly writing trait trainings were held to increase writing proficiency school-wide.
- Staff was trained in HQSI strategies to assist ELL and newcomer students in academic areas.
- Breakfast Book Club was created for students in grades 3-5 to encourage reading a variety of books.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Staff will implement research-based programs and effective strategies to increase student performance in ELA and math.
Objective(s): Students will increase ELA and math proficiency through the utilization of research-based programs and effective strategies in core areas 60% of the time.
Goal 2 Increase 2011 CRT proficiency rates with consistent alignment of classroom assessment measures to state standards.
Objective(s): Students will increase proficiency by 5% in reading and math on the 2011 CRT assessments, with a 75% correlation rate between the standards-based report card and AIMS web data. The percent of non-proficient students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will decrease by 10%.
