The mission of Arturo Cambeiro Elementary School is to create a school environment that promotes educational success and encourages school and community pride through positive interaction and cooperation among community, parents, and school. We believe our mission is to help all students become lifelong learners, achieve academic success, develop physical well-being, display sensitivity to others, recognize and acknowledge their personal worth, and play a productive role in society. |

Highly qualified teachers & staff collaborated frequently on focused areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment to improve strategies for learning in all subject areas and for lifelong learning.- The Tony and Renee Marlon Charitable Foundation provided $25,000 to Spread the Word Nevada for literacy services to students.
- The School Improvement Plan provided a focus on monthly goals to ensure progress in student achievement.
- Students gained increased access to technology through Elmos, SMART Boards, and LCD projectors placed in most classrooms.
- First grade received a Wells Fargo grant to fund student-created books, allowing first graders to become published authors.
- A grant from the City of Las Vegas' Parents as Learning Supports (PALS) program helped fund a Ballet Folklorico dance group.
- A grant from Nevada Department of Education funded a Peer Mediation program that supported positive student interactions.
- The Carol M. White Physical Education Program (PEP) grant provided P. E. equipment for Family Fun and Fitness Night events.
- The Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program grant provided servings of fresh fruits and vegetables twice weekly for each student.
- Cambeiro is one of the first elementary schools to establish a chapter of the National Elementary Honor Society.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1
Students will increase achievement in reading content areas and writing, with a specific focus on word analysis skills.
Objective(s):
All students in grades 3-5 will increase by 5% word analysis skills and strategies; comprehend, interpret and evaluate literature; comprehend, interpret and evaluate informational text; and all Depth of Knowledge levels with a specific focus on vocabulary development and word analysis skills.
Goal 2
Students in Cambeiro ES will increase achievement in mathematics content areas with a specific focus on Number Sense.
Objective(s):
All students will increase proficiency by 6% in content strand (C1) Number Sense and Operations and (C5) Data Analysis and in all Depth of Knowledge levels. Subgroups performing below targets will demonstrate 10% increase, based on their previous performance, to close the achievement gap.
