The mission of the William R. Lummis Elementary School community is to work collaboratively to establish a safe learning environment that stimulates excitement for learning, is sensitive to the needs of all learners, and promotes high levels of achievement and respect. |

The William Lummis community of administrators, teachers, parents, and support staff work diligently to ensure a well-rounded exceptional education for all students to meet our high expectations.- Extended activities such as art, chess, drama, technology, basketball, cheerleading, and science clubs were offered.
- Lummis staff were trained in Inclusive School Practices to ensure we challenge and advance each and every child.
- Teachers provided tutoring before and after school for students on the cusp of proficiency.
- Two tuition-based extended-day kindergarten programs were provided, serving over 50 students.
- Response to Instruction tracked student progress and provided interventions for struggling students.
- Writing Academy was offered on Saturdays to 5th grade students in preparation for the writing proficiency exam.
- Students attended field trips to Red Rock, Sea Camp, Forever Earth, plays, farms, museums, and the Springs Preserve.
- Students participated in student government leadership training, campaigned, planned, and implemented an inauguration.
- Junior Achievement, focusing on financial literacy, was presented to kindergarten through 2nd grade.

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Student performance in mathematics as measured by the 2010 CRT will increase across all subgroups.
Objective(s): Student performance in mathematics in grades 3, 4, and 5, specifically in the areas of strategic thinking/geometry, will increase from an average of 44% to 54% proficiency and/or show a 10% decrease in non-proficient students as measured by the 2011 Nevada CRTs.
Goal 2 Student performance in ELA, as measured by the 2010-2011 CRT, will increase across all subgroups.
Objective(s): Student performance in ELA will increase overall from 76% to 79% proficient as measured by the 2010-2011 Nevada CRTs. Student performance in English language arts will increase in the LEP subgroup, from 41% to 46% proficient and/or show a 10% decrease in non-proficient students.
