Our mission at Martha P. King Elementary School will be to develop independent, secure individuals capable of adapting productively to an ever-changing world. We will teach essential skills and promote a personal lifelong love of learning. |

The Martha P. King community of principal, teachers, support staff and parents work diligently to provide an exceptional education for all our students to meet our high standards and expectations.- Smartboard technology was added to 14 classrooms to provide teachers and students with an advanced instructional tool.
- 5th grade students had the opportunity to re-live history by participating in King's 25th annual Civil War Reenactment.
- 3rd grade students had the opportunity to become World Travelers by researching and presenting reports on world countries.
- 4th grade Nevada Citizens had the opportunity to travel to Carson City and watch state legislators in a legislative session.
- 5th grade Great Americans had the opportunity to attend a 3 day Leadership Camp at the PALI Institute in California.
- Our Parent Advisory Committee organized and coordinated outstanding events that contributed to our overall school program.
- After-school tutoring was available to students, which included the Fast ForWord remedial reading program.
- Students were recognized for outstanding achievement in academic, social and behavioral areas during Cobra Kid Assemblies.
- Martha P. King received 107 new computers to replace outdated computers. Classroom and computer lab computers were replaced.

Goal 1 Students in all subgroups, including IEP's, will demonstrate increased proficiency achievement in English language art
Objective(s): Students will make AYP or Safe Harbor in English language arts as measured by Nevada AYP standards in 2010-11.
Goal 2 Students in all subgroups, including IEP's, will demonstrate increased proficiency achievement in mathematics.
Objective(s): Students will make AYP or Safe Harbor in mathematics as measured by Nevada AYP standards in 2010-11.
