Mission Statement
Carolyn S. Reedom Elementary School places children first. Our community of learners engages students, families, and staff in a positive and safe learning environment. We challenge each student to explore, read, write, and create so they can compete successfully, respectfully, and responsibly in our global community.
 
Highlights
Carolyn S. Reedom Elementary School strives to provide a first class education for all students through exemplary programs and excellent, caring educators.
  • Explorer of the Month assemblies highlighted individual student achievement.
  • A school-wide reading intervention and enrichment plan was implemented to assist students who were reading below grade level.
  • The Study Island, V-Math Live, and Ticket to Read computer programs were implemented to increase student achievement.
  • AimsWEB was implemented as a school-wide system for monitoring student progress.
  • The WatchDOGS Program continued with over 150 dads signing up to spend one day at school.
  • The annual Trunk or Treat and Spring Carnival events served as major school fundraisers.
  • Reedom Elementary School continued its partnership with UNLV in providing training for student teachers.
 
Goals and Objectives
Goal 1
Students will show increased reading achievement on the English language arts section of the 2011 Nevada CRT test.

Objective(s):
There will be a reduction of 10% in the number of non-proficient students. A specific focus will be given to the students in the Hispanic, FRL, and IEP subgroups.

Goal 2
Students will show increased mathematics achievement on the mathematics section of the 2011 Nevada CRT.
