E. C. Best Elementary serves about 525 1st-6th grade students. Fifty-three dedicated staff members offer the students strong academic programming and many memorable school experiences.- Project LIFE intensive reading for 1st and 2nd grades
- Renaissance Place Accelerated Reading and Accelerated Math
- Quarterly award ceremonies for perfect attendance, CHARACTER COUNTS! recognitions, etc.
- Homework Club for 3rd-6th grade students
- Family Events: Back to School Night, Lattin Farm Night, School Carnival, Multi-Cultural Night

Goals and Objectives |
Goal 1 Professional Development – Professional Learning Communities, collaboration,NWEA/MAP assessmentand data analysis.
Objective(s): Train staff on effective use of PLC and collaboration time. Train staff on data analysis using NWEA MAP, CRT, Writing Assessments & other data sources to drive instruction. Monitor teacher’s use of research-based collaboration & teaching strategies to meet student’s needs.
Goal 2 Professional Development on research-based strategies & programs to meet student’s English Language Arts & Math needs.
Objective(s): Train staff on effective research-based strategies, inclusion, co-teaching & small group instruction. Train staff on use of ELA & Math program resources: AR & AM, 6+1 Writing, Math Connects, etc. Target small groups for instruction based on ELA & Math identified needs.
Goal 3 Staff will make outreach efforts through parent committees/activities to involve the community in student education.
Objective(s): Staff & parent groups will schedule events to involve the community in school & the school in community events. Staff & parent groups will make outreach efforts to recruit volunteers for the school. Staff & parent groups will design CHARACTER COUNTS! recognition & assemblies for celebrations.
