I Can Do Anything Charter High School - Curriculum Details

ICDA’s curriculum has been created to meet the needs of the student population served. All students are given an assessment of skills and knowledge. Their transcripts are evaluated and they meet with our counselor to create a schedule of classes to meet their specific needs.
ICDA has developed video, digital arts and photography programs that can lead to the awarding of a Career and Technical Education (CTE) endorsement upon successful completion of the required courses.
An important aspect of our curriculum is our participation in the We the People Program national civics courses and competition. This program is highly successful in building character, self-confidence and self-reliance for our at-risk population. The students’ efforts are recognized with Congressional certificates and public accolades.
ICDA takes great pride in its performing and visual arts programs. The classes are housed in the Jill E. Wells Center for the Arts. In these programs, students from all levels of academic achievement, socio-economic backgrounds, genders, individual impairment(s), and ethnicities have the opportunity to learn from world-class instructors. The students perform to audiences of many genres and venues, and they thrive as they are able to establish self-confidence and the discovery of the world of dance, digital arts, photography, fine arts, art history and aesthetic appreciation. At any one time, approximately one third of our students are actively enrolled in a performing or visual arts class. Because of the innovative curriculum offered only at ICDA, they learn both marketable and personal lifelong skills. Through Perkins Grant funding, the media program has acquired high tech equipment and software that keeps the program industry-current.
ICDA has an Articulation Agreement for its computer literacy program with TMCC, allowing students the opportunity to earn up to five college credits while in high school.
ICDA @ home distance education program provides a high quality curriculum for studentswho havechallenges attending traditional classes due to work, parenting or family obligations. The hybrid program allows students the opportunity to access the best of both programs: at-school traditional classes along with A+ classes for credit recovery or acceleration. Also, because of the vast number of course offerings, students may take classes that are not offered through our traditional curriculum.
