100 Academy of Excellence - Curriculum Details

Our teachers continue to use the Nevada CORE standard curriculum and Imagine curriculum which is aligned with the State assessments and the SAT 10. The CORE curriculum is supplemented with software programs that allow the students, teachers, parents and administrators to trace the progress continuously. In grades K-8, our students are assessed at the beginning of the school year to determine the differentiated instruction needed for each child to succeed. Throughout the school year, our students are assessed using the "benchmark" assessments which guide our instructional program. Along with the results of student tests, samples of student work, classroom observations and parent input, we devise and re-assess what must be used to help us provide an effective instructional program for all students. Student Success Plans are reviewed quarterly and shared with parents to help us better instruct our students. Data from STAR reading and STAR math is disseminated monthly to all teachers to provide the immediate feedback that will drive future instruction. We offer a seven hour school day for students in K-8 grades and a before- and after-school CARE program from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm. After-school and Saturday tutoring is provided to all students. We also offer summer school to all students with an academic camp and a student/teacher ratio of 10 to 1. Our students are to encouraged explore educational networks so they can compete in a global society.
